Kayaking and Canoeing are assumed risk sports and it is very important that all participants and their carers/parents understand this.

Trips and events published on this website and the forum might not be suitable for all members and in some cases are not "official" club activities and in all cases the decision to participate rests with the individual. Please use the website, forum and club members to help you gain information but ultimately the decision to paddle is always your own.

8/2/2012 - Pool Sessions (2nd session)

Due to the increased popularity of the pool sessions, the committee has decided to make the second sessions bookable. This decision has mainly been taken to avoid people travelling down to the pool with their boats, only to find that they can't paddle. As always, we have reserved 4 places for the Irwell Shufflers, so there will be 8 places available for booking (these can be booked in the same way as the first sessions on the club schedule).

The first session we have introduced booking for is 8th February 2012.

Please also note that the last pool session will be on 4th April 2012, where after we will move to Burrs Country Park, Bury for the majority of our Wednesday evening paddles.
 

3/1/2012 - Awards 2011

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Awards for 2011 were as follows:

Most Improved Paddler of the year :       Mel Stoddart

Swimmer of the year:             Harry 'the fish' Aspinall

Competition for at least one of these awards is already underway....

7/10/2011 - 2011 - 12 Membership forms

It's that time again. Memberships are now due for 2011 - 2012.

Individual memberships are £20 (£10 for under 16's) and £30 for family memberships.

4/10/2011 - Pool Sessions and Upcoming Trips

As the dark nights have now drawn in, we now paddle in the comfort of Westhoughton Pool on Wednesday evenings.

Up to date information on each trip is usually discussed on the forum.

8/8/2011 - New Website

Hope you all like the new look website. The main changes, other than the obvious splash of colour, are that the forum and photobucket gallery will now open within the website, so it should be easier to navigate back to the various pages of the website. Please feel free to update the galleries with any pictures you have (email me if you need the password). The calendar page will also be updated manually, with the club schedule booking system also opening from within the website
