NEWS
(Updated on 25/11/08 – for the latest news and gossip see the forum)

Our Wednesday evening sessions continue  at Westhoughton pool, from 20:00 - 21:30, split into two 45 minute sessions. We are limited to ten boats in the pool for safety reasons, so in the first session we will give priority to juniors and novices, with the emphasis on coaching. More details on the calendar page and the forum.

Monthly moving water trips continue; in October we had an enjoyable run down Keswick's River Greta in fairly high and challenging conditions. November saw two trips, the first on the Goyt and the second another local run on the Mersey, after the planned Rothay trip was cancelled due to lack of water. In addition to the regular “second weekend” trips which are mainly on white water rivers, one or two more gentle trips are being planned for the next few months, so that the novice level paddlers will still be able to get outside as well as paddling at the pool sessions. Details will eventually appear on the calendar, but most of the trips are being discussed on the forum, so click over there for more information and to check out any last minute changes.

Don't forget the two YouTube channels showing video of club events. Carl goes under the name of Cowheaders, where there are a few examples of his headcam footage, while Steve has the Keawyeds in Kayaks channel. Watch these for more additions, and if you have anything you’d like to add, please pass it on (it will be fully credited to whoever filmed it) or even join YouTube yourself..

The backlog of photographs to go onto the gallery is reducing. The gallery page hasn't yet been updated but there are some links from the forum to the Photobucket site where the pictures are hosted. In the meantime if you have anything, please pass it on. If any members don't want their images posted on the web, either as video or stills, please let us know so we can make sure you're edited out of any pictures or footage.
